CURRICULUM COACH

AREA: _K-5 Literacy Coach_(HEC/SJEC)__

August 2024-June 2025 with the opportunity of extension

Description:

A Curriculum Coach for ASD-S will collaborate with other members of the curriculum team to support initiatives related to the District Improvement Plan and the 10 Year Education Plan. Reporting to the District Subject Coordinator, the successful candidate will work with teachers to achieve District and curriculum objectives.

Ideal candidate(s) will:

• Integrate best practices in coaching.

• Exhibit critical thinking, problem-solving, and equity knowledge related to literacy.

• Demonstrate proficiency in relevant subject area curriculum documents and resources.

• Organize and deliver professional learning.

• Support teachers and/or teacher PLCs through the Request for Support model.

• Maintain effective communication.

• Demonstrate leadership.

• Collaborate with and contribute to the team in a flexible manner, modelling a growth mindset.

• Be able to travel.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Must have experience teaching in the relevant subject area where applicable.

• Must have effective communication, organization and interpersonal skills.

• Having demonstrated leadership facilitating professional learning, and leading initiatives will be considered an asset.

• Preference will be given to teachers with at least five years of teaching experience.

• Preference will be given to B contract teachers with Anglophone South School District.

• Preference given to individuals who have completed the Building Blocks of Reading Modules.

• Familiarity with the Holistic Curriculum Framework will be considered an asset.
