CURRICULUM COACH

AREA: K-5 Numeracy

August 2024-June 2025 with the opportunity of extension

Description:

A Curriculum Coach for ASD-S will collaborate with other members of the curriculum team to support initiatives related to the District Improvement Plan and the 10 Year Education Plan. Reporting to the District Subject Coordinator, the successful candidate will work with teachers to achieve District and curriculum objectives.

Ideal candidate(s) will:

• Integrate best practices in coaching

• Demonstrate proficiency of relevant subject area curriculum documents and resources

• Exhibit an ongoing commitment to learning in Elementary Mathematics

• Organize and deliver professional learning

• Support teachers and/or teacher PLCs through the Request for Support model

• Maintain effective communication

• Demonstrate leadership

• Collaborate with and contribute to the team in flexible manner, modelling a growth mindset

• Be able to travel

Qualifications and Experience

• Must have demonstrated experience teaching Elementary Mathematics

• Must have effective communication, organization and interpersonal skills

• Preference will be given to teachers with at least five years teaching experience

• Preference will be given to B contract teachers with Anglophone South School District

• Having demonstrated leadership facilitating professional learning and leading initiatives will be considered an asset

• Must have demonstrated knowledge of evidence-informed pedagogies and best-practices for instruction and assessment of early numeracy
