Volunteering -Hello Grade 11’s and 12’s!  Are you interested in some volunteering?  Well, look no further, as there will be a meeting in Mrs. Wright’s room, 136, regarding tutoring opportunities TODAY at 12:30.  Hope to see you there.

Reach for the Top - Attention grade 9 students. Do you like trivia, and online quiz games?  If you do, the KVHS Reach for the Top team is for you!   Any students interested in joining the Reach team can come to room 228 at lunch today to learn how to play. Bring your lunch and come check out a great activity!   Returning Reach Players will practice tomorrow at lunch.

Workroom – Attention all Crusaders!  Every week, new part time jobs are posted on the Student Job Board inside the Workroom.  Part time jobs are great for students who want to learn new skills while earning extra money during the school year.  If you need help preparing your Resume the Workroom is here to help you.

Leadership Team and Grad Class – There is a VERY IMPORTANT 10 minutes meeting at 12:30 today for anyone who is running for the Leadership Team or Grad Class.  Please meet at 12:30 today in Mrs. Lanigan’s Room, room 115.

Mountain Biking Club –There will be a Meeting for all interested in a Mountain Biking Club on Wednesday, September 22 at 12:30 in Mrs. Lamont’s Room, Room 002.

Student Vote Results – Thank you KVHS.  You voted an NDP Government with 252 votes, 30%ofthe vote.  Conservatives had 25% of the vote here, and Liberals had 19%, Green 17% and People’s Party 7%.  Across the country, students voted in a Liberal government with 117 seats and an NDP opposition of 107 seats. CPS got 91, Bloc took 20 and Green took 3.  Compare that to the actual election which also has a Liberal minority with 158 seats

Chess Club - The Chess Club is changing to become the Board Game Club.  Come out and learn and play new creative games.   The Board Game Club meets on Wednesday at lunch.  If you are interested, come out this Wednesday at lunch for the first meeting in Mr. Gilbert’s room, Room 230.

Sports - Congrats to the Sr Boys soccer team on their hard fought 2-2 draw vs St. Mac last night.

Also, a huge congratulations to the softball team who kept their undefeated season going with a convincing 10 - 0-win vs Simonds last night. The girls will need to get out of class at 3 tomorrow, as they head west to take on Harbour View. Teachers should expect the athletes to ask for permission to do so.

Boys and Girls hockey tryouts are tonight. Players are reminded that they must sign up prior to stepping on the ice. See Mr. Rice for more information.

Good luck to the Sr Girls soccer team tonight as they host Sussex High School.

Finally, A VERY IMPORTANT REMINDER to all Fall athletes regarding vaccinations. You will not be allowed to take part in your sport starting tomorrow, if you have not shown proof of being double vaccinated or have a medical note proving you cannot be vaccinated. The rules will also apply to our Winter sports athletes and students taking part in intramurals. If you are trying out for hockey at this time, or you simply come in the gym to shoot around at lunch, you must do this as well!!!!!. Mr. Rice will again be in the mini gym today to verify your vaccination papers.

Good Luck to the Senior Girls Soccer team as they take on Sussex High at home today on the turf at 6pm.  All players must be to the field by 5:30 sharp!  

Also, a reminder to all players to get permission from afternoon teachers to be excused from class this Friday for tournament play at RNS. 

Attention Male Basket Ballers      If you would like to be part of the KVHS basketball club once again this year, please listen carefully.

KVHS Boys Basketball Club starting up once again this year. Will happen on Wednesday evening at 7 pm and again on Sundays at 8:30 pm. Boys of all skill level will be accepted. This is not a team and trying out is not required. Sign up with Mr. Rice ASAP, show proof of double vaccination and come to the gym and play the game you love!!!!
