Social Media and its Effect on our Mental Health - Free Presentation

The It Takes A Village parent committee is pleased to offer another information evening to parents on a topic of great interest — Social Media and its Effect on our Mental Health by Dr. Daniel Chorney.

Teenagers can use social media to find their community but is their mental health being negatively affected by this culture of comparison? As social media is continuously changing and evolving how do we as parents and guardians effectively balance the positive and negative effects of screen time.  And how much screen time is too much for our youth?

The It Takes a Village committee is pleased to welcome back Dr. Daniel Chorney to discuss social media and its effect on our mental health. His engaging and down to earth approach makes for an extremely interesting, informative and entertaining evening.  His presentation will focus on some of these questions as well as an overview of commonly used social media platforms and some of the challenges both teens and parents face in using social media and technology effectively. He will look at the impact of screen time on mental health on how to set limits and manage technology.

This is a FREE presentation designed for parents/guardians of youth in the era of social media and electronic devices.
