Annual Roots Of Empathy Celebration at Hampton Education Centre

On June 9th a celebration for all participants and supporting guests of the Roots of Empathy Program was hosted at the Hampton Lighthouse River Centre.  
This years contribution of 21 babies, the world’s youngest teachers, their parents and facilitators have contributed to building caring, peaceful and civil societies.
Roots of Empathy is an evidence based program which was developed by Mary Gordon, an educator from Newfoundland.  This program has shown dramatic effect in reducing levels of aggression and violence among school children while raising social and emotional competence, modeling a loving parent/child relationship and increasing empathy.  It is presently offered in classrooms throughout Anglophone School District- South.  For more on this program go to www.rootsofempathy.org.
