Kiwanis K-Club Marigold Garden at Milltown Elementary School

The students at Milltown Elementary School engaged in a global citizenship project with their new Kiwanis K-Club’s marigold garden which is now planted at the school.  The club raised the money for the garden, grew the flowers from seed, and planted the flowers in the Kiss ‘n Drop circle.  Jen Dow from the Town came into one of their meeting to discuss which flowers they should plant  - they decided on ones that would be hardy and still blooming in the fall:  marigolds.  The fundraising committee consisted of a half a dozen girls all  -no one over grade 2!  They planned and held a dance at the school and raised approx. $240 – way more than they actually needed.  They decided to make the admission to the dance by donation, so that all would be included.  This was their first service project for school and community. Congratulations to these students for their hard work and dedication !!
