Congratulations to our students who participated in the Celebrate
Canada Youth Quilt/Art Project! A photographic representation of a quilt featuring
many of the designs is to be displayed in Market Square.
The staff and Students of The Compass Education Support
Program are proud to announce that Tyler Patterson, a grade 11 student from
KVHS, won the grand prize in the competition.
painting feature images of four Indigenous people wearing traditional regalia,
including First Nations, Metis and Inuit people.
The Seaside Park Elementary School Community Playground
officially opened, thanks to an amazing group of volunteers who spent several years
and 1000s of volunteer hours to see this project completed.
Congratulations to our own Ms. Sue Ellis-Loparco, from
Saint John High School, who was named to the Saint John Sports Hall of Fame! A
well-deserved honour recognizing her many years of service to sport, including
track and field, speed skating and volleyball.
Congratulations also to our Budget & Accounting Manager Carolann Spear, who was recently awarded the Association of School Business Officials "Vision Award."
The 22nd Annual Marigolds
project took place with schools across ASD-S planting
marigolds to beautify our public spaces and take pride in the community.
School choir performed at the opening ceremony, where our own Ms. Corkum and
Ms. Turnbull received Marigold Awards.
As always, ASD-S had much to celebrate in the month of June. Staff and students recognized many dedicated and well-deserving new retirees, and students celebrated the end of a successful school year, full of hard work and fun. Congratulations in particular to our high school seniors who are setting out on their next adventure!
