Bonjour!
Here's a look at what is going in Grade One FI this week!

 

                               (Week of
September 17th)

 

Thank you to
all the parents that were able to come on September 13 to our Meet the Teacher.  It was great seeing you at Meet the Teacher.


We contiue to practice and review our class expectations every day at school.

 

     TAKE 2 for
Seesaw!  Unfortunately you received the
wrong paper to sign in your child for SEESAW. 
I have included a new form with your child’s name on it.  I have created a new class: Grade 1 FI
2018.  Please register in this
classroom.   Sorry for the confusion and
inconvenience.

 

Homework will begin on Monday.

 

1)     Your child
will bring their sound duo tang (green duo tang).  Please
return to school each day as we will need this duo tang to add new pages of the
sounds worked in class.  Your child needs to go over the pages, read
the songs and poems.  Ask him/her to say
the sound highlighted.  IMPORTANT:  While reading your child needs to TRACK WORDS
with his/her FINGER and look at the
picture cues. 

 

2)     Watch videos of sound “m”, “a”, “e” “l” on my
teacher page.   I will
also include other videos on my teacher page.

 

3)     Your child needs to read the book: Quel âge
as-tu?  Continue to encourage
him/her to track words with finger and look at picture cues.   Please make
sure to pack this book in communication bag when your child is done reading it. 

 

4)     Ask your
child to count objects in French (1-10) around the house (toy cars, blocks of
Lego, chairs…)

Qu’est-ce qu’il y a dans ton sac

o   Je vois ___________.    (I see _______________)

 

 
 

We will be working on the vowel “e” and “l”. Be
sure to check my teacher page for some prompts with these sound.  We continue to work on identifying the letters of the alphabet in French.

 

 
 

Mathématiques:

 

This week we will continue to count in French up to 20
forward and backward, count objects and recognise numbers up to 12 in
French.  As a whole class, the students
were able to count to 29 last week. 
BRAVO!
