Bonjour!
Here's a look at what is going in Grade One FI this week!

 

                               (Week of September 24)

 

 
 

1.    
Your child will bring their sound duo tang (green
duo tang).  Please return to school each day as we will need this duo tang to add
new pages of the sounds worked in class. 
Your child needs to go over
the pages, read the songs and poems.  Ask
him/her to say the sound highlighted and read the high frequency words that are
circled.  

 

Watch videos
of sound “r” “i” “n” Seesaw.   I will
also include other videos on this app.

 

    2. Your
child needs to read the book: J’ai les yeux et les cheveux  Continue to encourage
him/her to track words with finger and look at picture cues.   Please make
sure to pack this book in communication bag when your child is done reading it. 

 

   3. 
Practice printing the number from 0-5 at home.  Point to the numeral and child needs to say
what it is in French.  Roll a die and
your child, should say number in French without counting.

 IMPORTANT: 

 

I just wanted
to make you aware that there is a child with severe allergies to certain foods
(eggs, dairy products) in my classroom. 
Your child is able to eat these food at school; however he /she needs to
wash his/her hands after eating snack and lunch.   Your child also needs to wash his/her hands
when coming into my classroom in the morning to ensure that there is no food
residues left on their hands that the student with allergies could be in
contact with.  They also need to tell me
if there is a spill of food at their table so it can we washed immediately.  The students are doing well remembering to
wash their hands and telling me if there is a spill at their table.

We will be working on the vowel “i” and consonants
“r” & “n””. Be sure to check my teacher page for some prompts with these
sound.  We will continue to learn the
alphabet in French. 

 

 
 

Mathématiques:

 

This week we will continue to count in French up to 20
forward and backward, count objects and recognise the numerals up to 20 in
French.  Count from a given number to 20
(for example; from 7 to 14).  Recognise
dots on a die/ domino/ ten frame quickly without counting.   We are practicing printing the numbers from
1-10 and drawing appropriate number of objects. 
We will also learn the names of the shapes in French. 

 

 
 

Please encourage your child to look at

the sounds and other videos of songs learned in class.
