A big HELLO to our BCMS school community! We've worked hard to prepare the school for our wonderful students, and we are so happy to see you here!
We are now starting our first FULL week at school, and I have been in every singe classroom to say hi to everyone.
Feeling some feelings, got a problem, or want to ask a question? Come see me! If you are a student and would like to have a guidance appointment, you can do so by:
- sending me an email to email@example.com
- asking for a guidance appointment form from any adult in the building
- writing me a note and placing it in GUI DANCE, located down by the trophy case
Parents, I welcome the chance to chat with you, too! Reach out by email should you have any questions, comments, or concerns that I can help with!
We're in for one great year, and I'm so happy to be here with you all!
Team Leadership is helping to chase any winter blues away with some fun activities over the next month!
Along with helping with Wellness Week (February 18th-21st), we are also organizing:
- a lunch time movie starting this Wednesday in the cafeteria - free to all! And since popcorn goes great with movies, we'll have bags of popcorn for sale, too!
- Valentine's day hot chocolate sale! Come to the tech lab during lunch time on Friday, February 14th and fill your mug with some delicious hot chocolate , complete with yummy topings!
* All funds raised will be used for student leadership conference fees, expenses surrounding our comunity volunteer activities, our annual "send a student to summer camp" fund and other educational purposes.
Starting this Wednesday January 8th, BCMS is starting up snowshoe club! Mme LeGresley and other adults will lead students through the woods surrounding the school for some lunch time fun! No snowshoes? No problem! A limited number of snowshoes are available for students to use! All are welcome!
This week - December 9-13th - is the last week for accepting donations to our Gift Card Blitz campaing. All gift cards and donations directly support BCMS families in need!
We are halfway from reaching our $2000 goal, so please consider helping out if you can!
'Tis the season of kindness and generosity! For the 9th consecutive year, BCMS is accepting gift card donations in order to support other BCMS families in need this holiday season. Students can bring in card donations to their teacher, or donations can be left at the main office. No time to pick up a gift card? No problem! The campaing is also accepting cash donations to be made on your behalf.
If you have any questions or comments about the Gift Card Blitz, please reach out to Mme LeGresley, guidance counsellor, at firstname.lastname@example.org
Thank you, our wonderful BCMS community, for your support!
Sexual Violence NB (formerly Fredericton Sexual Assault and Crisis Center) will be at BCMS October 22nd and 23rd for the annual grade 7 and 8 workshop presentations. Relevant and important topics covered in this 50-minute presentation are: addressing sexual violence and sexual harassment online, in person, or as "jokes", as well as consent and sexual assault.
Please contact Mme LeGresley, guidance counselor, with any questions or concerns you may have regarding the content of the presentation at email@example.com
Calling all mountain bike students!
Our BCMS mountain bike club starts up again this Friday (September 13th). Roll out is at 12:15 sharp, and back at 1:10. Make sure you've got a signed parent/guardian permission form in to Mme LeGresley in order to participate. So, make sure you eat a big morning snack and have another for SSR!
NEW THIS YEAR: you MUST have a mountain bike (shifting gears, hand brakes, front suspension) in good working order, no BMX or fixed/single gear bikes. Helmets are always mandatory, and come out with a positive attitude!
This Wednesday (September 11th), students who are new to the sport of mountain biking can join Mme LeGresley on the side field for an intro to mountain bike basics. No permission form needed, just a bike and helmet!
If a parent would like to volunteer, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. We love parent volunteers!
The John Howard Society is once again accepting applications of families interested in participating their relationship building programstrengthening families program.pdf. If interested, please check out the attached brochure, and contact the John Howard Society directly at 506-450-2750.
If have any questions about the program, please feel free to contact Mme Julie LeGresley, guidance counsellor at 444-4407, or email@example.com
BCMS is proud to be a member of the LINK program. Several teachers have received training in active listening in order to help support students who are facing any number of issues. The LINK program maps out several community resources in and around Fredericton that are in place to help.
Not sure who in the building are LINK partners? Check in with Mme LeGresley in thr guidance office, or look for the little yellow LINK card in several classroom windows. This indicates that teachers are ready and willing to listen to our students!

Good afternoon parents!
Throughout the fall term, BCMS fortunate to be partnering with the Fredericton Sexual Assault Center to deliver grade level presentations on sexual assault, sexual harassment, empowerment and online safety.
The first of these presentations will take place on Tuesday, September 13th during first period. All grade 7 students will attend a seminar that defines what sexual harassment is in an age appropriate context, as well as discuss strategies and solutions should any student experience this type of aggression. The presentation is being delivered by FSAC Program Coordinator Jenn Gorham, an experienced educator who has been delivering such presentations to students within the city of Fredericton for years.
We recognize the sensitivity of this topic for some of our students. Please talk to your children about their experience during this presentation, and please do not hesitate to contact the guidance department with any questions, concerns or comments you may have.
