Students have now started the unit Earth's Crust and we are currently focused on identification of minerals using various tests/techniques. Next week we will learn about the different types of rocks and how they form (rock cycle).

Also, STEAM topic sheets must be returned by Tuesday in order to be approved. The next task will be to begin the written report (introduction, hypothesis, list of materials and procedure) before actually completing an experiment or building a prototype. It is very important for students to be specific with their topics.

Ex: Volcano is too broad of a topic and is technically an elementary level project. To expand on this, perhaps test various chemicals to create eruptions or build different models to see if size/shape changes anything.
