For next class period be sure to have your notes, Graphic Organizer, Draft & Revisions completed for class
Revision 1: (In the body of your report only)
- Highlite the topic sentence of each paragraph
- Number the supporting details for each topic sentence
- Make any necessary corrections or enhance ideas if needed.
- Highlite the first word or words of each sentence (Does each sentence start with the same word or group of words?
- Choose one (1) paragraph and count the words in each sentence recording the number at the end of the sentence
- Attempt to reword your ideas so that you are not repeating words and add compound and complex sentences in the place of your short sentences.

Integers Math Test on Thursday.
Things to know:
- Zero Pairs
- Illustrate/pictorially represent addition and subtraction using numberlines and/or integer tiles/coloured counters (as illustrated in class)
- Solve integer addition and subtraction problems
Integer Addition & Subtraction - The Week Ahead
You should be practicing addition and subtraction of integers, representing addition and subtraction of integers using counters & numberlines (verticle and horizontal). Practice pages and worksheets are handed out regularily in class.
Complete the questions and check your answers. Be sure to make corrections and ask for any help you may need. (When the assignment is in the textbook, the answers are in the back of the book; for worksheets - answers are available in class binder)
Also remember that on Tuesdays and Thursdays we will be continuing to have our Math Quick Check (Quiz). These Quick Checks helps you and I to quickly find out if you know how to complete your work effectively and efficiently. (If you are struggling remember we have either in-lclass one-on-one or small group help.
This weeks Quick Check Topics - Solving Integer Equations (addition & subtraction), Zero Pairs, representing addiiton and subtraction equations (using counters, numberlines, thermometers), and solving word problems using integers.
Please Note: Small Group, you will also be working on multiplication and division of integers.

Article of the Week - Twister!
Since this was our first article we used class time to read, reread, highlight important information and annotate the article. Most of you also completed page 81 in class (except 7C) so all that needs to be completed is the t-chart for Tornadoes - Causes and Effects, and the questions about where tornadoes occur and how people protect themselves. Remember - I suggested that you complete this on looseleaf paper since the space provided on pg 82 would be difficult to work with.

As we move forward you will continue to be given time in class to begin your work and ask questions, plus a week to complete the reading of the article, annotating, and completing assigned work.
The next article will be given out starting on Monday, January 29th. (I am not assigning one this week so that you have time to put the finishing touches on your STEAM projects and get a start on your Heritage Fair project (althought class time is being given for this as well))
