7A, 7B, 7C, 7D MathFebruary 11 Students have requested that the weeks practice assignments be uploaded all at once so that they can manage their time better. So starting today I will upload the full weeks practice assignments. I will still pass out the assignments on a daily bases in class (unless someone requests otherwise) and going over the practice exercises the following day to ensure that there are no questions or challenges.
Note: to complete tonights assignment students were told that 0 divided by any number is alway = 0 but that any number divided by 0 is "undefined" and will therefore give an error.
Grade 6 Note: Grade 6 students are invited to attempt any of the following practice assignments but it is not required. Most students have been working on volume and should have these exercises finished for Thursday.

Assignment
Today we went over and corrected the questions assigned Thursday (all answers are online). We did a quick review of compound shapes and copied a "recipe" for solving them into our notes. We also had a quick reminder about Rounding Numbers and the importance of paying attention to the place value connected to where we are rounding to. (For example: 4.67 rounded to the nearest tenth is 4.7 but rounded to the nearest one is 5)
Our focus today Multiplying Decimals (2 digit by 1 or 2 digits). Examples were added to our math notes (except for 6/7B and we will add those tomorrow).

Math 7A, 6/7B, 7C, 7DJanuary 30 Assessment was returned to students yesterday (with the exception of those who hadn't finished writing or who were working on other materials)
Please have signed and corrected test returned tomorrow (Thursday) . We have gone over questions 1 6 in class.
Decimal addition and subtraction + area worksheet. Due tomorrow.
Student should be able to complete this quickly since it is all review. Work is to be completed on loose leaf this helps to reinforce the skill of lining up the decimal point for both addition and subtraction (something a number of students continue to struggle with).
