Hello GNMES families!
Our staff is excited to welcome your children back to school next
week. We will have a staggered entry to
our school start which means that students will begin their first day of school
on either Tuesday, September 7 or Wednesday, September 8. Students will attend on
one
of these days. Beginning Thursday, September 9, ALL students
will attend school and continue with our regular schedule for the remainder of
the year. Kindergarten students will have
our traditional staggered entry from 9:00 am – 11:00 am on either the Tuesday
or Wednesday, September 7 or 8, as outlined by their teacher. Kindergarten students must be dropped off and
picked up by family on these days. Kindergarten
students can begin taking the school bus (if applicable) on Thursday, September
9. Grades 1-5 students, however, can begin
taking the bus on their first day of school. Due to the direction from EECD and the Healthy & Safe
Schools Document, our Meet the Teacher / Corn Boil scheduled for Thursday, September
2 has been cancelled. To still connect
with you prior to the first day of school, all classroom teachers will be
contacting families tomorrow, Wednesday, September 1 between 2:00 and 4:00 pm. Please answer your phones if you see an
unknown number! Your child’s classroom
teacher will provide you with information about your child’s first day of
school and any other important information.
They will also be seeking information about your child’s afterschool
arrangements and any health / medical information that may be required to know
for your child’s safety. Although we cannot provide you with the opportunity to visit
our school and see your child’s classroom at this time, we invite you to check out
our school website for a link to a video tour of our school. In addition, you will find the school supply
list and lots of other information there.We look forward to seeing everyone in September!
