Posts: Weekly News For Dec. 5th - 9th

Dear Families:

 Snowsuit
weather is upon us!  PLEASE take the time
to help your child become independent with putting on and taking off their
hats, mitts, boots, snow pants and jackets. Also, they need to learn to be
responsible for keeping track of these belongings so that all accessories are
easily found at the end of each day. It would be very helpful for your child to
have an extra set of mitts and socks in their book bag as noon hour activities
often result in wet hands and feet.

 What we are
learning:

Literacy - This week we will begin List 3 in our
sight word books. The first 5 words we will be focusing on this week are: do, can, could, when, did.  Our reading strategy for the month of December
will be to retell a story with a clear beginning, middle and end.  We will also introduce the sound for the
vowel teams “oi” and “oy”.

Math – We will be working on addition strategies (+0, +1, +2)

You and Your World - We will be continuing to talk about
traditions, past and present.
