Memo to Garden Creek Parents and Guardians
Good afternoon Creeker Families!
At this time of year, I want to remind you all that you need to check each morning regardless of the current weather, to make sure there are no school delays or closures, bus delays or cancellations. This can be done via the school or district website, http://web1.nbed.nb.ca/sites/asd-w/Pages/default.aspx, twitter, listening to a local radio station, or phoning the hotline at 453-5454 or 1-888-388-4455. In addition, this is the time of year when the weather changes significantly from day to day. One day it may be below -20 but another day it is predicted to be +10. Or this change may even occur on the same day! So please keep an eye on the weather forecast for the day when you are preparing the children to come to school.
Update on the Scholastic Book Fair:
Book fair hours-
Wednesday April 11- 12noon-4pm
Thursday April 12- 7:30am-7pm (students can visit during the day)
Friday April 13- (no school/parent-teacher interviews)- 8am-12noon
The theme of the book fair is "Paws for Reading" and students can send in a photo of themselves reading with their pet and/or a drawing of their favourite book for two book fair prize contests! Get those entries in this week!
Clothing orders are going home with students today. Please see the letters attached for information about ordering and about fitting times for the clothing. As well, attached to this memo is a letter about our new cashless schools system where you will be able to start paying for certain items online, starting with clothing, if you are interested.
As well, we are working on compiling our yearbook. If you are interested in sponsoring a page in the yearbook for your business, please let Mrs. Ghanem know and she will coordinate this with you. Please sign up for this if you would like to, by Friday April 13.
