Memo for Garden Creek Parents and Guardians
Good
afternoon Creeker Families,
We
hope you all enjoyed the sunny day yesterday as we inch closer to warmer
weather! Lots of notes for you to be aware of:
Personalized
Projects –
Congrats to Mr. Burnett’s class who presented Social Studies projects on
topics of choice last week. We also congratulate one of our grade 2 students
who presented her project at STEAM EXPO last week. We are looking forward to
more projects being presented in the grade 2 FI class as well as the
grade 5s presenting their Heritage projects on April 24th.
Choice = student motivation, engagement and learning.
Achievement
Reports -
Term 2 reports go out next Monday, April 1st. Please ensure you
have signed up through the doodle emailed to you so that you can meet with
your child’s teacher next week. I encourage everyone to meet with the teacher.
Garden
Creek Parent Perception Survey – two years ago, the PSSC sent out an anonymous
parent perception survey to get feedback from parents around a variety of
items about our school. We are again asking for your feedback. Please
complete the survey monkey for each of your children at our school
through this link. The most valuable part, I find, is also the comments
that you can add. Please give us feedback so that we can improve our school and
our practices. Thank you.

Clothing
Items –
A reminder to come and check out the VAST number of lost and found
clothing items located in our lobby. We recommend that you label your
child’s outdoor clothing to aid in the items going back to their rightful
owners.
Yearbook
Sponsorship
– Parents or businesses have until April 5 to go to cashless schools if
they would like to sponsor the yearbook. The rates are $25 for a page or
$50 for a business card sponsorship. Thank you to those who have already done
so J
Parking
Lot Issues –
We are noticing that some parents are parking in the exit areas of the parking
lot to drop off or pick up their children. This is a safety issue. Parents are
welcome to park in the spaces in the parking lot to walk their children in the
school but please do not park or idle in the exit areas.
Creeker
