I hope you are all enjoying these final summer days as we approach the first
week of school! Our teachers, custodians, and admin assistants continue to work
hard to prepare the school and classrooms for a wonderful year of learning for
your children. We are
delighted to host our newest Kindergarten Creekers to our school community on
September 7th and 8th between 9:00am and 11:00am. Our
returning students in Gr. 1-5 will also be beginning their first day of school
on September 7th.

This Friday between
2:00pm and 2:30pm, families will be receiving an email from their child’s new
teacher welcoming them to the 2021-2022 school year. In that
communication, information will be given, questions will be asked, and
important reminders will be shared. Among these reminders will be to ensure that your child has indoor
sneakers, 2 water bottles (1 stays at school and the other for their bookbag),
a packed lunch with snack, 1 mask to wear when entering/exiting our school, and
at least one extra mask to leave at school. Extra masks will be
available in our office for emergencies. I encourage families to have the
following information ready to be shared with their child’s teacher:

Bus # that your child will be
taking (http://web1.nbed.nb.ca/sites/ASD-W/transportation/Pages/default.aspx
)
The name of the guardian
picking up your child at dismissal from school (if not taking bus)
Any allergies/dietary concerns
that your child has

For Grade 1-5 students coming to school on September 7th, there
will be staff members
waiting just outside the entrance doors between 7:40am and 8:10am to welcome
your children inside the school and guide them to their assigned classroom.
Parents/guardians will be asked to remain outside of the school as part of our
mandated COVID protocols from government officials. Dismissal for our Gr. 1 and 2 students
will be at 1:50. Students being picked up will exit the school
with their teacher and bussing students will begin their routes home or to
after-school daycare. Dismissal
for our Gr. 3-5 students will be at 3:05.

In the coming days, a
newly revised family handbook will be made available on our school website.
This document will contain school hours, recess plans, safety protocols,
important screening information, and much more. Stay tuned for this important
document!

Finally, our ‘Meet
the Teacher Night’ is scheduled for September 15th at 6:30pm.
Due to COVID restrictions, this will be conducted virtually. You will be
receiving more information from your child’s teacher as we approach that night.

The first day of school is an important one for all children to feel safe,
cared for, and a sense of belonging. Our staff is so excited to make this
year’s first day of school a great one!
