The Atlantic Commercial Diving
Centre, located in Summerside, PEI is the only certified
commercial diving school east of Ontario.
Commercial diving is a
trade that is currently in high demand, and we have employers reaching out
daily looking for new grads from our program. This program is a great
opportunity for anyone who is adventurous, looking for a career that involves
hands on work and being outdoors the majority of the time. Taking this course
can lead to finding employment immediately after completion and earning above
average salaries, we often have students who receive job offers prior to their
graduation. We are proud of our high success rate from our carefully
crafted programming, combining in-class lectures with hands on experience that
prepares our students to enter the workforce.
The USSD certifications is
a 23-week intense course held at our state-of-the-art facility. The program
typically runs from January to June with classed that are limited to a maximum
of 24 students. Having these smaller classes helps allow for more one on one
from our instructors. In this program our students will learn about diving
equipment, systems and procedures, and then progressing into courses on
inspection, underwater welding, construction techniques and more. Surface
cutting and welding courses are taught on campus before progressing to
underwater techniques. ACDC uses various dive sites throughout Atlantic Canada
to expose our divers to the realities of working in tidal waters and currents
to prepare them to work in any body of water worldwide.
