Hello NVS families. I would like to share some new information with you. It has been determined from the district and transportation that all of our remaining early dismissals for professional learning for teachers will now be at 11:45. Therefore, on Tuesday, October 24 our early dismissal will be at 11:45 instead of 10:30 which had been put on our October calendar. We apologize for this change but it was beyond our control. As well, we will be practicing various safety activities throughout the next few weeks to recognize safe schools week. Our school evacuation that was scheduled for Thursday, October 19 has been moved to Wednesday, October 25 at 11:00. We will be walking to our alternate site: the Nashwaak Valley Community Center with assistance from outside sources (possibly the RCMP or EMO) to ensure the safety of our children. Students will be dismissed from the center at 11:45. If parents are picking up their children that day, we ask that you pick your child up at the Nashwaak Community Center. Buses will be picking our bus students up from there. Any students who are participating in Mad Science will walk back to the school with staff. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you should have any questions or concerns.
Dear NVS Families,
There have been numerous cases of head lice found in our
school. Your child may have come in
contact with someone who has head lice. To help control the spread of head
lice, please read the Head Lice Fact Sheet prepared by the NB Public Health at
the following website: http://www2.gnb.ca/content/dam/gnb/Departments/h-s/pdf/en/CDC/FactSheets/HeadLice-e.pdf.
We ask that you assist us in doing head checks of your children
to ensure that we prevent the spread of this bug.
Please note that our annual auction at Nashwaak Valley School will take place on Tuesday, November 14 with viewing of the items beginning at 5:30 pm and the auction itself beginning at 6:00 pm. We are currently seeking donations and a letter to approach local businesses is in our documents section of the website with hard copies available at the school if you would like to help us secure auction items. This is a great opportunity to get some holiday shopping done all while supporting our school and the many great things that happen here! Thank you.
