On behalf of the faculty and staff of Oromocto High School (OHS), I am pleased to welcome you to the OHS website. Oromocto High School serves students in grades 9-12 and has a student population of approximately 1085 students. Our school has a long history of excellence in academics as well as extracurricular activities.
I am excited to have been named Oromocto High School Principal in July 2016. I am passionate about providing the best learning environment and experience possible for each and every student who attends OHS. My fundamental philosophy is guided by a belief that all students deserve to be educated in a positive, respectful and inclusive learning environment. My vision for Oromocto High School is for our school to become a Centre of Excellence in Teaching and Learning in our province and our entire staff will be working on that pursuit over the school year ahead.
My message to each student this year is:
- Get involved in school activities: Join a club or try out for a sports team
- Resilience: When facing challenges and experiencing a setback, acknowledge it, but remember that you should move forward and that each day is a new day and new opportunity.
- Interdependence: If you need help or assistance, reach out to your family members, teachers, counselors, friends, or the administration team. High school does not mean that you do everything on your own. There is always a support network to help you.
- Take care of yourself and others: Take care of yourself every day by making healthy life choices. Remember you always have the choice to do what is right and that the time to do what is right is always right now.
OHS sincerely appreciates the sustained support provided by our parents, our PSSC, our local community members, and local businesses and organizations. We pledge to continue to work hard to make our academic and extracurricular programs even stronger to ensure our students are successful and prepared for the future. They deserve no less.
Welcome to Oromocto High School! I wish everyone a great school year.
