Hello families,

What a beautiful Thanksgiving weekend we had!  I hope you all had time to spend some quality time together with family and friends.  Here are the important items and updates for this week:

Reading 15 minutes per night in French - practice makes progress! Students can choose their books in class or they can read online on a site such as Reading A-Z: https://www.readinga-z.com/worldlanguages/french/leveled-books/
Practicing basic addition/subtraction facts (Using Xtra-math.org or Logiciel Educatif: https://www.logicieleducatif.fr/math/numeration/nombreschiffres.php, or flash cards)
This week students are being asked to choose a leader they would like to present for their end-unit project. The will have some time to do a bit of research and will be expected to write a paragraph explaining what makes them a leader. Students are welcome to choose someone related to their interests (musicians, actors, athletes, artists, etc) but should ensure they demonstrate a variety of leadership qualities (resilience, courage, positivity, etc) and can explain how they have had a positive impact on their community.
We will be collecting toonies for the Purple Pinkies for Polio Campaign until October 19th. A donation of just $2 can provide the vaccine for a child in an at-risk country.
Tuesday is the last day to send in picture orders.
Please return all library books to exchange on Tuesday.
Wednesday our school will be voting to elect our Student Council President. Best of luck to all of the candidates!
Please join us this Saturday between 10-2 for the Nissan Test Drive fundraising event. For each community member who test drives a vehicle, Nissan will be donating $20 to our school!
Upcoming dates:
Oct 15th: Geordie Productions perfomance of Little Witch
Oct 15th - 19th: Safe Schools Week
Oct 24th: Take Me Outside Day
Oct 25th: Picture re-takes
Oct 31st: Pumpkin Walk
Have a fantastic week!
