Posts: Visualization strategy

11/6/2018 12:15 PM by elizabeth.howlett

This week in reading we have begun working on the visualization reading strategy. When reading, students should be using key details and information from the text to create images in their mind and picture what they are reading. This is especially important for students who are moving on to read more complex texts with fewer images. While you are reading at home this week, I encourage you to ask your child to share what they are visualizing or even draw a picture! You can also further the discussion by asking what words or details the author has chosen to help the reader visualize.
