Home practice

Number work:

Individual suident assessments on numbers are almost complete. Many students are still having a difficult time with numbers 60-100. Please encourage your child to practice by listening to the Youtube number songs found in my weblinks page.

--> If your child doesn't find the videos to be helpful, here are some games you can play together:

Skip counting with dice: Student rolls a dice. Rolling a 1 means the child should skip coun tby 1, rolling a 2 means the child can skip count by 2, etc. Rolling a 6 means the child should skip count by 10. You or your child can choose to skip count from any number, ideally starting with the numbers they find difficult. (If needed, I can email or print a number chart to help).

Flash cards: Make flash cards with your child. You can choose to make flash cards with only the numbers your child finds difficult, or with any numbers form 1-100. On one side, have the child write the number (ex. 27), on the other, have the student practice writing out the number in words (ex. vingt-sept). To do this, students can copy from an online number list. Once the flash cards are created, the student can play by themselves (flipping the card over and checking their answer), or with a sibling or parent.

Writing out numbers:

The following link will bring students to a game where they can practice writing out numbers in words. This is for those students looking for a challenge:  http://www.logicieleducatif.fr/math/numeration/nombresmots.php

New songs:

In the weblinks section of my Teacher page, you will find a few new songs for students to listen to at home. These include a song on a new verb (verbe avoir), a song which highlights the sound 'o' and a couple songs about Fall, animals, etc.

Sound Homework:

The following links are computer websites and tablet websites students can use to work on the following French sounds. These specific links will bring your child to games which will help them identify the targeted sound in a word -- they will need to click on any words with the targeted sound. Please copy paste the links in the website bar.
