Roy's Weekly Roar- May 1-5, 2017

"April showers bring May flowers" or so the saying goes. Let's hope the weather listens to Mother Nature and our playgrounds begin to dry up. We are still having some wet and muddy clothes, so please send your child prepared for the weather outside.

Congratulations to our Band and Kindergarten classes for an excellent performance at Music Festival. Thank you to our band instructor and teachers for providing our students with this opportunity and experience. 

Head Lice- There have been a few reports of head lice at the school. Please be sure to check your child's hair often.

Vesey Seed Fundraiser Update- Royal Road Home & School Association is pleased to announce that the Vesey Fundraiser was a HUGE success! We raised over $2,300 from the orders placed.  These funds will be used to furnish the halls of the school with new bulletin boards and update some classrooms with white boards. The top two sellers were Rachel and Kyla who were awarded with a gift card from Chapters.
A HUGE thank you to students, parents and the community for all your generous support in this fundraising campaign!

Monday May 1- Grade 5 students to visit Nasis Middle School. Band practice for Brass at 11:50 and Percussion at 12:20. 
Thursday May 4- Band practice for Flutes 10:00am and Full band at 11:50am
Friday May 5- NO School for students. NBTA Council Day for teachers.  

Grades 3-5 Chess Club every Mon. Tues. and Fri.   New players always welcome.

Rise and Shine- There is no more Rise and Shine.

Jump Rope For Heart- If you have not brought in your envelopes and raised monies please do so asap.

May 15- No school for students. NBTA Council day for teachers.
May 22- No School. 
May 29- School Track and Field day for grades 3-5 at Nasis Middle school.
