* Discussions and reading activities about friendship and emotions in our unit on social interactions ( You and Your World).

* Daily literacy centers

* Vocabulary: focus on Fall, Halloween and new words learned in You and Your World during discussions

* Writing: Activities with sentence structures

* As I have mentioned already, we have worked on representing numbers in different ways.  During all activities, the students used math manipulatives.

Coming up:

* The student will start to work on their writing piece to finish this first term.  This will be sent home. 

* In math, we will tackle mental math strategies and we will also explore 2D and 3D shapes.

* Vocabulary: Remembrance Day

* By the end of next week, we should be done with the sounds to be revised from grade 1.  In the next couple of weeks, I will be posting the list of all the new sounds the students have to learn in grade 2.

* This week, we will focus on the new high frequency words for grade 2.   Every week, look for the list of words added on our word wall.  We will do a few each week.  They will be listed in my overviews.
