TERRY FOX RUN: A TOONIE FOR TERRY

Gibson-Neill Memorial is pleased to be hosting its annual Terry Fox Walk on Monday, September 24, 2018.

Students are encouraged to donate a “Toonie for Terry” and all monies raised through the event will be forwarded to The Terry Fox Foundation to further the cause of cancer research.

This year marks the 38th Anniversary of Terry Fox’s Marathon of Hope. We are proud to be associated with the Terry Fox Foundation and believe that our involvement will launch a successful, positive, and meaningful school year. The Terry Fox Foundation is recognized as one of the most fiscally responsible charities in Canada. The Foundation ensures that for every dollar raised, $0.84 goes directly to cancer research – just like Terry wanted.

In 1980, one man set out to do the impossible; run across Canada on one leg to raise money for cancer research. Thirty-eight years later, over $680 million has been raised in his name and we at GNMES are proud to be keeping Terry’s dream alive.

For more information on Terry Fox or the Foundation you can visit www.terryfox.org.

Thank you in advance for your support.
Sincerely,
GNMES Staff

“Anything is possible if you try. Dreams are made if people try.” Terry Fox, 1980
