Hello MAS families! It is hard to believe we are headed into the last week of February and already heading into March with the following week being our March Break. Just a reminder as our weather begins to warm up that we are having lots of wet children after recess. Please remember to start packing extra mittens, socks, clothing, etc.
Dr. Seuss Winter Fun Week- It’s time for a ‘Seusstastic’ week at MAS! We have planned some fun activities and theme days for students.
Monday, Feb.26- Cat in the Hat Day- Wear a crazy hat.
Tuesday, Feb. 27- Seussville Olympics- outdoor activities from 8:45-10:30am. Hot chocolate provided by Home and School.
Wednesday, Feb. 28- Pink Shirt day for Anti-Bullying and Wacky Hair Wednesday
Thursday, March 1- Fox in Socks Day- Wear crazy socks and Skating at Willie O’Ree.
Friday, March 2- Official Dr. Seuss Day and Green Eggs and Ham day- wear green and all students will enjoy a special breakfast of green eggs and ham here at school.
Tuesday, Feb. 27- Dismissal at 11:00am for students. PL afternoon for teachers. The teachers have been reading a book called “Positive Behaviour Supports Systems in Early Childhood and Elementary Settings”. We will be discussing the book, main ideas, and looking at how we can implement this system at MAS.
Skating- Please be sure to complete the form and return it as soon as possible. We want to make sure that students are prepared for that field trip. Students MUST have skates and a helmet to be on the ice. Skating will take place on Thursday, March 1. Grades k-2 will be from 9:00am-10:00am and grades 3-5 from 10:00am-11:00am. Parent volunteers are welcome.
Food Drive- We are continuing with our Food Drive for one more week. Items that the Community Kitchen is in need of are as follows:
- pasta (eg. spaghetti, Kraft Dinner, any other pasta)
- canned goods- soup, tuna, salmon, canned fruit, canned vegetables, any kind of beans, etc
- Microwave popcorn, fruit cups, instant oatmeal
Please send items in with your child or drop off at the school.

Monday Feb 26- Crazy Hat Day. Great Canadian Bagel hot lunch. MAD Science afterschool. PSSC Meeting 6pm. Year book order forms for grades K-4 go home.
Tuesday Feb 27- Seussville Olympics. Dismissal at 11:00am.
Wednesday Feb 28 – Pink shirt day for anti bullying and Wacky Hair Day. Drama Practice 12-1:30pm. Please pack a lunch.
Thursday March 1– Crazy Socks and Skating. Pizza hot lunch.
Friday March 2- Wear Green. Green Eggs and Ham for breakfast. LHHS Clubs. Hot Lunch Tots and Taters.
