Gesner Street Elementary School has Principal of the Year

​Heather Cripps, principal of Gesner Street Elementary School in Oromocto, has been named Distinguished Principal of the Year for 2019 by the Canadian Association of Principals.

Cripps received her award May 2 during a national conference in Whitehorse Yukon. 

"Congratulations Heather, your commitment to students and high expectations for staff have become very evident to me over the past two years and it is wonderful to see you recognized for your hard work," said Gina Dunnett, director of schools for ASD-W.

​The Canadian Association of Principals (CAP) has been the Canadian national voice of school leadership for 40 years. Its mission is to advocate for school leaders and be a presence on the national stage through strong communication, connecting with members, reaching out to all partners in education, and supporting the professional​ growth of school leaders across the country.
