Host Families in Need!

BECOME A HOST FAMIILY

The New Brunswick International Student Program (NBISP) welcomes students between the ages of 11 and 18 from all points of the globe. Visiting students live with a host family, attend school, and earn academic credits with the New Brunswick students. They also participate in extra-curricular activities and community events. Hundreds of host families around the province welcome students from abroad into their homes each year.
Specifically, we are trying to find host families for Brazilian students beginning in late January 2019 (for approximately 5 months). Visiting students live with a host family and attend regular classes at Nackawic Middle School. A host family does not need to have a child who currently attends Nackawic Middle School. Any community member may apply to be a host family. There is a financial incentive for host families to help compensate for the extra expense of welcoming a guest for an extended period (approximately $700/month).
 If you are interested in hosting an International student next year, if you have any questions about the program, or if you would like more information about the responsibilities of host families, please contact Sean Newlands, Vice-Principal of Nackawic High School at 575-6042. Please share this information with any family or friends that may be interested in hosting as well.
STUDENTS NEED
·        A Private Bedroom
·        Internet Services
·        3 Nutritional Meals Per Day
·        Access To A School  Bus Route, Or Public Transportation
·        To Be Considered As One Of Your Own Children

·        Attend Community Events
·        Share NB Culture
·        Show Students Our Beautiful Province
·        Include Students in Everyday Family Events
While hosting an international student, a fixed monthly stipend will be provided to the homestay to cover expenses.
