NIGHTHAWKS OF THE MONTH - JANUARY 2017

This award is presented in recognition of your academic excellence. You contribute well in the classroom and have excelled in History over the second half of the course. You put together a very good research essay. You have a very good attitude in the classroom and contribute well to any class discussions. You have proven to be a good problem solver in working through various different tasks in the course. Your ability to understand complex concepts and put those ideas to paper will prove to be a valuable asset in other courses in the future. It is a pleasure to have you in the classroom. You are a role model to all students. Congratulations on being selected Nighthawk of the Month for January 2017.
 
 GENESSA BRILMAN

 

This award is presented in recognition of your hard work and dedication to all of your endeavours. As the Treasurer of the Student Council Executive, you have been incredibly reliable. You have taken on additional responsibilities scheduling the student store, submitting fundraiser forms and much more. On the executive you are a calm, mature and positive voice. As a student, you are also awesome.  You work hard, maintain your excellent sense of humour, and can easily work with anyone. You make every place you are more pleasant and welcoming. You are a role model to all students. Congratulations on being selected Nighthawk of the Month for January 2017.

 

MIRIAM CONNOR 

 

This award is presented in recognition of your academics. You are at once a no-nonsense learner and a student with a mature and interesting sense of humour. You take any opportunity to learn to its maximum potential. In Ancient Civilizations, you physically reproduced board games from ancient Egypt, Rome and Medieval Europe out of wood. The final product was immaculate, artistic and all around excellent. You are happy to help any student who asks. Although you have not officially joined student leadership you have happily helped set up and tear down from assemblies, deliver flyers for Trick or Canning and hide elves about the school. You also have great ability on the drums and with other musical instruments. You are also a dedicated member of the NHS Reach for the Top team and Impact Group. You are a role model to all students. Congratulations on being selected Nighthawk of the Month for January 2017.
 
EMILY FOX 

 

This award is presented in recognition of your academic excellence and positive attitude. You are excelling in your academics at NHS this year. You have become very involved in extra-curricular activities at Nackawic High, including Student Leadership Group, Reach for the Top and Drama. You and your family also hosted a student as part of Winter Camp 2017. Within the community, you are an active member of the Girl Guides movement. In addition, you are kind and pleasant to everyone around you at all times.  You are a role model to all students. Congratulations on being selected Nighthawk of the Month for January 2017.
 

Julia Scarbro

 

This award is presented in recognition of your leadership and character. As Special Events co-chair on the Student Leadership Executive, you have been key to ushering in the new advisory competitions that have been so successful. You have also helped to integrate the community service piece into these competitions. You are also a senior member of the Drama Club, and have helped lead the group towards an ambitious goal of writing original material this year. You also hosted a Chinese student for winter camp and showed tremendous character in doing so. Throughout the week, you were a great support to the guest students whenever they had any questions or concerns, or needed support You are a role model to all students. Congratulations on being selected Nighthawk of the Month for January 2017.
