​Dear Parents/Guardians of MEMS students: I wanted to provide you with a timeline as we wrap up this unique school year. The last day of Teachers supporting students online will be Friday, June 12th . Report cards are currently being generated and will be distributed on Monday, June 15th, and Tuesday, June 16th , the same way students’ personal items were collected. We will follow the same class schedule and same physical distancing rules.

In keeping with the province’s guidelines, please do not come to the school if: ~you have a fever/are feverish, have a chronic cough or difficulty breathing ~you have travelled outside the province within the last 14 days ~you have had close contact with a confirmed or probable COVID-19 case ~you have had close contact with a person being tested for COVID-19 When entering MEMS, please follow the outlined traffic flow. All hallways are one-way for this visit and you must exit using the designated door. We have created the schedule to avoid lineups, however, there will be Staff at the main entrance who may request you wait in your car until numbers are such that entry is permitted. We appreciate your patience. There will be hand sanitizer available for you upon entry of the building. If you feel more comfortable with washing your hands with soap and water, the bathroom sinks in your student’s wing will be available for your use. Custodians will be engaging in sanitation measures, as well. If your student wishes to say goodbye to their teachers when retrieving their report card, one student will be permitted to be with one parent. Thank you for respecting physical distancing government guidelines.

Your child’s Homeroom Teacher will be in contact with you to schedule a specific ten-minute visit to the building .

If you have any tech devices that belong to the school, please return them and their power cords, etc., to your student’s Homeroom Teacher when you come for their report card. Thank you. Please note, if your student still has any items in the building, they need to be picked up at the same time as report cards. Unclaimed items will be disposed of so that summer cleanup can take place. We truly regret not being able to end our year with everyone. Our Middle School always look forward to our “Year End Celebration” the last day of school when we get to celebrate Middle School students’ academic and athletic accomplishments and wish our grade 8’s all the best as they head off to the high school. Please be assured, our Middle School Team are hard at work creating something to let our MS kids know how much we care and want to still celebrate with them. Stay tuned for some exciting celebratory surprise we will share via social media shortly.

On a final note, MEMS Staff are missing our students and would like to see everyone one more time so, weather permitting, on Thursday, June 18th (rain date: Friday, June 19th), from 11-12pm, we will be doing a “Drive-by Farewell” at which time Teachers will be outside the school, physically distanced around our driveway. We invite you and your children to end the school year with a wave goodbye. Cars will come in at the first driveway and follow the bus lane, doing the loop and exiting on Cedar St. We would love to see you there!
