Picking Up Student Belongings
From Monday, May 4 to Thursday, May 7 students will be permitted to enter Nackawic Middle School to pick up any of their belongings that are remaining at the school. Students are asked to return any textbooks or library books that they may have at home at this time as well. There will be boxes outside of each homeroom for students to deposit their textbooks/library books in. In keeping with the recommendations from Public Health, we encourage students to wear masks when coming to the school. Students will be asked to wash their hands in the identified bathroom upon entering the school as well as wash their hands in the identified bathroom before leaving the school. The school will be providing directional areas which are to be followed. Students are asked to enter the right-hand doors of the front entrance of the school. Please be aware that there will be a limited number of students allowed in the school at one time, for this reason, it may be necessary for people to wait. Students are asked to collect their belongings and leave within 15 minutes. On Friday, May 1st we are asking parents/guardians to call the school between 10 am and 12:30 pm to book a day and time for the child to come to the school. (Possible times are below.) As buses will not be running, it is necessary to have someone who is able to drive your child to the school. Bags will be provided for students to place their belongings into. Please note that the following questions will be asked:
1. Do you have any of the following symptoms: fever, a new or chronic cough?
2. Have you returned from travel outside of New Brunswick within the last 14 days?
3. Have you had close contact with a confirmed case of COVID19 within the last 14 days?
Anyone who answers yes to these questions will not be permitted access to the school. At this time there has not been additional days or times established for students to pick up their belongings. For this reason, parents/guardians are encouraged to ensure that your child’s belongings are picked up during the given times. Thank you for your cooperation and patience as we move through this process.
