Good Evening Parents and Guardians of George Street Middle School and Fredericton High School,

Today we were informed of a positive Covid-19 case at both schools.

Students are required to do the following:

  • George Street Middle School – All students, even though they are not attending school, are required to continue rapid testing daily and follow their previous letter from Public Health. If your child produces a positive test or one symptom arises, please book a PCR test immediately.
  • Fredericton High School – Anyone identified as a close contact will receive a letter from Public Health with specific instructions on rapid testing. Your school administrator has sent this letter or will be sending it shortly. Close contacts should begin rapid testing immediately, and if negative tests are produced tonight and tomorrow morning before school, please attend school. If your child produces a positive test or one symptom arises, please book a PCR test immediately. Those who do not receive a letter from Public Health should plan to attend school tomorrow as usual.

Thank you for your continued support as we respond to the pandemic.

Sincerely,

Jay Colpitts, Director of Schools for Covid-19 Response
