​​Grade 4 teacher Maxine Brewer from Keswick Valley Memorial School and the K-2 level teaching team at Keswick Ridge School have received National Inclusive Education Awards. 

Introduced by the Canadian Association for Community Living in 2007, the awards recognize schools and organizations that work consistently and constantly to include all students in education and school life.

According to nominators, Maxine Brewer is “that” teacher – the one students adore and whom teachers aspire to be like – with close to 30 years of dedication and motivation she goes above and beyond to make sure all of her students are included and receive an education that matches their individual needs.

The K-2 level teaching team at Keswick Ridge School – Karen Howland, Melissa Chetwynd, Heidi LeBlanc, Michelle Boreland and Celinda Crandall – use the co-teaching method for their extraordinary choice to co-teach four multi-age classrooms, each with a mix of kindergarten, Grade 1 and Grade 2 students of varying abilities.
