Title: Confirmed Covid-19 Cases at Nackawic Middle School and Cantebury High School - December 17, 2021
Body: December 17, 2021

Good Evening Parents and Guardians of Nackawic Middle School and
Canterbury High School,

Today, Public Health has confirmed a positive COVID-19 case at each of your
schools.

As per the new Public Health guidelines, all students in schools with
Grades K-8 with a confirmed COVID-19 case are required to do daily rapid
testing and monitor for symptoms. If one symptom appears or a rapid test
shows positive, please stay home and book a PCR test immediately.
Students in Grades 9 to 12 that are vaccinated are not required to conduct
daily rapid testing at this time.

Your school principal has or will send a letter from Public Health with
detailed instructions on rapid testing.

You are reminded that students in Grades K to 6 have finished school for
the holiday season.  Students in Grades 7 and 8 are scheduled to finish
for the holiday season at the end of the day on Tuesday, December 21.
Students in Grades 9 to 12 are scheduled to finish for the holiday season at
lunch time on Thursday, December 23.  Testing as described above is to
continue even if not attending school.  For those students who are still
attending, you can report to school on Monday if you have tested negative on
your rapid test each day, up to and including Monday morning, as well as show
no symptoms of COVID-19.

Thank you for your continued support as we respond to the pandemic.

Sincerely,

David McTimoney, Superintendent
