Dear Parents and Guardians
of Gibson-Neill Memorial Elementary School,
This afternoon we were
informed of a new Covid-19 case at the school. We are working with Public
Health officials to identify any students and school personnel who may have
been in contact with the case.
Anyone identified as a close
contact will receive a letter from Public Health with specific instructions on
what to do next. Your school principal will send this letter.
Unless notified otherwise,
all students should plan to return to school tomorrow, December 13.
As per the new Public Health
order, all schools with a confirmed Covid-19 case in the past 14 days will
begin a daily rapid testing program. This means that Gibson-Neill Memorial will
be distributing test kits to families tomorrow, with the expectation that all
students test daily until December 23.
Please remember, if your
child is showing any symptoms of Covid-19, you should:
Register them online for a test by
clicking “Get tested” on the GNB coronavirus website (
www.gnb.ca/coronavirus
). OR,
Contact Tele-Care 811. The 811 operators
will evaluate your child before sending them for testing.
