Dear Parents and Guardians,
This evening we were
informed of Covid-19 cases at Assiniboine Avenue Elementary School.
As per the new Public Health
guidelines,
all students
in K-8 schools with a confirmed Covid-19
case are required to do daily rapid testing and monitor for symptoms. This
means that all students at Assiniboine Avenue Elementary will be required to
rapid test daily. Your school principal will be sending a letter
from Public Health with detailed instructions on what to do next.
Whereas we were notified of
these cases late in the evening, we will move to a distance learning day
tomorrow, December 16, to allow time for your children to complete two rapid
tests within 24 hours. If both tests are negative, your child may come to
school on Friday, December 17, for their last school day before the holiday
break.
Tomorrow, teachers will reach
out to families with learning activities for the day. We recognize
that the opportunity to connect with the school may vary among families. Please
do not worry if you cannot connect. We understand that this is short notice,
and we will adjust as required.
Please remember, if one symptom
appears or a rapid test shows positive, stay home and
booka test
immediately.
