Physical Education at Home
Date: April 13-18
Hello DFMS Students! Please find some activities that can be done this week at home to help you
stay active. Feel free to share photos of yourself doing these activities on the DFMS Facebook
page to show us how you are staying active!
Monday
Find a safe object to practice throwing and catching (soft ball, a pair of socks rolled into a
ball, crumpled up paper). Try these challenges! Do 10 of each.
1. Right to Right
2. Left to Left
3. Right to Left
4. Left to Right
Too EASY?? Try standing on 1 foot, or try with your eyes closed.
How many catches can you and a family member do in a row? 5? 20? 50?
Tuesday
Dice Fitness
Roll the dice, add it together with your age and then perform an exercise that you picked
to match with a number. If you do not have dice at home, you can make dice! All you will
need is paper, scissors, tape and a pencil to make the dots with! Dice have 6 sides.
Wednesday
While keeping 2 meters social distance from others, go for a 15-20 minute walk with a
family member around your neighborhood. Walk a block then jog on the next block. See if
you can walk 5 blocks and jog 5 blocks.
Thursday
Dancing is such a great way to increase your cardiovascular endurance. We have been
working on increasing the number of minutes that we can sustain participation for within
each grade level.
Let's Dance - Try all of your favourite songs!
Friday
Stretching enhances your flexibility, strength, coordination, and body awareness. Today’s
challenge is to try to make all of the letters of the alphabet with your body! How long can
you keep your balance for each letter? Cool down with some of your favourite stretches!
Don’t forget to get outside and be active whenever you can!
