Kindergarten Educational Resources April 13-17th

This week it would be great for the students to work on their
writing. They should be writing 2 sentences per day (more if possible). Things
to monitor with them are proper spacing between their words when writing, a
period and then a capital and spelling the no excuse word correctly. For all
other words it is fine for them to only put the sounds they hear; for example
if they have the word “apple” in their writing they may write “apl”...this is appropriate.
They should be able to reread what they wrote.

I know reading is more difficult due to level books maybe not
being available. So, I have added a website that I have investigated, and it
seems easy to maneuver through.

https://rivet.area120.com

On the home screen click on either “download app” or “try the
web app” and it will take you to a page with lots of options for Level 1
books...I am very excited about this site... 
I would suggest the students click through all the “pages” first and look at
the pictures to give them clues about what they might be reading about. And
then go back and start reading...it is important that they use their finger or
a pointer to point to each word as they read. I hope you find this helpful and can
continue to enjoy this site through the remainder of this school year!

In Math let’s practice the before and after concept. You could
place a set of regular palying cards in the middle (with facecards removed).
Take turns flipping a card and making your statement....so if you flip a 3 your
statement would be “before 3 is 2”...then you keep that card. Whoever had the
most cards at the end wins. Then play using the “after”.

Have a great week. Enjoy each other and remember give “my
kids” huge hugs from me!!! Talk to all Wednesday or Thursday!
