​Hello MAS Families! December is now upon us and that means a busy month. Today we celebrated positive mental fitness with DOTS for kids Ring a Bell Campaign. We talked about ways to have a positive mental health. Some of those ways are; get a goodnights sleep, hang with friends that make you feel good, know that it is ok to make mistakes, talk about your troubles and worries, learn to ask for help, and laugh out loud daily.

MAS Family Literacy Night- Please come out in your Christmas jammies and join us on Wednesday, December 6^th for a literacy night from 6:00pm to 7:00pm. We will have a special guest reader, ideas for literacy activities at home, cookies and milk with a story by the tree, and a special treat to take home.  We look forward to seeing you there!

Christmas Angel Tree- In our upstairs foyer we have our Christmas families Angel tree. If you would like to help out and support our MAS families this Christmas, please feel free to take a tag or two. Each tag has an item on it that a child in our school has wished for. The tag is also numbered, so please let Roxy know what number tag you have taken, so we can keep track. We ask that all gifts be wrapped, tag attached, and returned to the school no later than Wednesday, December 20^th. We appreciate all your support.

Hot Lunch Order Forms- Hot lunch order forms for January will be going out on Monday and are due on Thursday, December 14^th. Reminder that payment needs to be submitted separately for each hot lunch order form.

Christmas Concert Decorators- We are still looking for some volunteers with a love of being creative and enjoy to decorate. We will meet here at MAS in the room next to the office on Monday, December 4^th at 6pm to brainstorm ideas and put a plan in place. Decorating day will be on Friday, December 15^th.

School Bell Schedule- There has been some talk around looking at changing our school bell schedule in the new year to better serve our families/students and increase academic instructional time. Hot Lunch- This week we will have hot lunch on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.

This Week-

Monday December 4-  Choir practice at noon. Hot lunch forms go home. Concert decorating meeting 6pm at MAS

Tuesday December 5  - Great Canadian Bagel. Intramurals.

Wednesday December 6   - LITERACY NIGHT 6-7:00pm.

Thursday December 7   - Pizza Hot Lunch. Etsey Art After School Enrichment for grades 3-5 (3-4:30pm).

Friday December 8 – Yoga 8:45am-10:00am. Art Richard performance at Royal Road School (10:15am).

Upcoming Important Dates:

December 11- Whole School to visit York Care and perform our concert songs.

December 14- Turkey Dinner at Moco in Mactaquac

December 15- Family Christmas Movie Night (stay tuned for details)

December 18- 1:00pm Christmas Concert (Weather date- December 19^th)

December 20- Student Christmas Shopping Spree

December 22- Last Day of school for Christmas Break dismissal at 11:00am.​
