​Hello MAS Families! I apologize for the later in day email.  I want to thank all the families that came out to join us on our Literacy Night. It was great to see so many of you and hope that you enjoyed the evening and left with new learning or ideas. Today the students visited Royal Road School for a presentation by singer Art Richard.  Art Richard sings in French and engages the students in the French language through songs and actions. Lots of FUN!

York Care Christmas Concert- On Monday the school will be travelling by bus to York Care to perform our Christmas concert songs for the residents at York Care. The students are very excited to for this. CBC news has reached out and asked to run a story on this wonderful intergenerational partnership we have, so we will keep you updated on this as we are unsure if they will be there.
 
Christmas Angel Tree- We only have a few angels left if you would still like to support a family at Christmas. The tags are on the tree at the top of the stairs. Each tag has an item on it that a child in our school has wished for. The tag is also numbered, so please let the office know what number tag you have taken, so we can keep track. We ask that all gifts be wrapped, tag attached, and returned to the school no later than Wednesday, December 20th. We appreciate all your support.
 
Hot Lunch Order Forms- Hot lunch order forms for January went home last Monday and are due on Thursday, December 14th. Reminder that payment needs to be submitted separately for each hot lunch order form.
 
Moco Christmas Dinner- On Thursday we will be heading to Mactaquac for our Christmas dinner. This year students had choice of turkey dinner or chicken fingers and fries. Teachers asked students for their choice.
 
Family Movie Night- Notices went home today for Family Movie Night that will be held on Friday, December 15th. Please return form with your pre-ordered pizza, drinks, and popcorn.  The movie playing is Polar Express voted most wanted by students. Please come out and join us!
 
School Bell Schedule- I have received 20 responses to our survey. I will leave it up till the end of the weekend. Please if you have not done so, go to the link and let us know your thoughts. In the new year, we are looking to adjust our bell schedule to better serve our families/students and increase academic instructional time. I am looking for parent feedback and input. Shopping Spree- Student Christmas shopping spree will be on Wednesday, December 20th. Home and School is seeking some new volunteers. Please get in touch with Helga Rennke at 260-2017 or helgarennke@gmail.com
 
Hot Lunch- This week we will have hot lunch on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
This Week-
Monday December 11-  York Care Concert 10:30am.
Tuesday December 12  - Great Canadian Bagel. Intramurals.
Wednesday December 13   - Movie Night pizza and popcorn pre-orders due.
Thursday December 14 – Trip to Mactaquac for Christmas Dinner. Leaving school at 10:30 and returning at 1:30pm.
Friday December 15 – Family Christmas Movie Night- Polar Express. Come in your Christmas jammies!

December 20- Student Christmas Shopping Spree
December 21- Pancake breakfast for students
December 22- Last Day of school for Christmas Break dismissal at 11:00am.
