Good afternoon MAS families!

It’s been a
very cold week here at MAS!  We snuck outside briefly this morning
during the drop off recess, however the temp has fallen, and we are back
indoors.  I know that it’s supposed to get SUPER COLD overnight tonight
and into tomorrow, so I hope that you all get a chance to hunker down and stay
warm!

This week,
we welcomed Ms. Boone to our team! As well, our school enjoyed whole school
bingo, the 4/5 class switched to their English block and enjoyed a bilingual
learning outing to Cora’s and the Sports Hall of Fame. All classes began
learning about kindness, and we celebrated students during our Star Student
assembly. There has been so much quality learning taking place!

February is Black History Month and we will be
celebrating this by discussing citizens of the black community, and historical
events surrounding black history, every day during morning announcements, and
by placing information points on our school bulletin boards. We will also be
visiting NMS for a presentation, on February 17th

7.
In conjunction with NMS, we have changed when
we will be delivering popcorn to our students.  Moving forward, it will be
delivered to students on the last Thursday of the month.

8.      You may be aware that
EECD is looking to make changes to the French Immersion program beginning this
September.  They shared some information with parents in an email sent out
to you on Dec. 15th and they held public consultation
sessions.  You may provide feedback through an EECD survey which you can
access here: https://www.narrativeresearchsurveys.ca/S2/87/1187849/

Thank you
