Hello MAS Families! If I haven’t told you yet….your child is amazing! Students were absolute rock stars today with mask wearing and wore masks like it had always been that way. They would ask for clarification or if and when they could take it off, but they did a great job! Hard to believe this week we say good bye to November and Hello December!

Fundraiser- THANK YOU! This was a very successful fundraising event and we couldn’t have done it without parent support. The grand total raised for our school is- $1173.60. The winning class for the frozen yogurt party was ½ Davis! Congratulations 😊 And thank you again to everyone for participating and supporting school initiatives.

Reminders

NO SCHOOL- No school Friday for students. This is parent teacher interview time in the morning and PL in the afternoon.  

Report Cards- Report cards go home this week on Tuesday, December 1. Please take the time to go over your child’s academic progress and celebrate their success.

Parent Teacher Interviews- If you have not done so yet, we encourage you to please sign up for your parent teacher interview time via this link.  If you are unable to make any of the given times, please reach out to your child’s teacher to make alternate arrangements.

Christmas Angel Tree- We will once again be doing our Christmas Angel tree to help support our school families. We are reaching out to families to see if any are in need of some extra support this Christmas. If you would like some help this Christmas (groceries, gifts, clothing, etc) PLEASE get in touch with Roxy- Roxanne.yerxa@nbed.nb.ca or Mrs Burnett- Cynthia.burnett@nbed.nb.ca or call us at 453-5422. Please let us know by Wednesday, Dec.2  (Please note that names are kept completely confidential)

Christmas Shopping Spree- Please fill out and return by Monday.

Masks- Students will continue to wear masks throughout the orange level alert. Please be sure to send at least 2 clean masks each day. If you need support in providing masks, please let the office know.

Christmas Concert- Currently we are unable to sing while in orange. We will keep you updated on concert plans. Stay tuned.

Week at a Glance Nov.23-27

Hello MAS Families. It has been another great week at MAS! I have to say that our summer and fall weather are gone and it is time for winter clothing. Please be sure to dress your child for the weather and temperature. Winter coats, lined splash pants or snow pants, hats and mitts. It’s a good habit to get into early by packing extra mittens and socks in your child’s bag daily.  Also reminder for ‘Weather Closures’ we are located in Zone 6.

Information/Reminders

Breakfast in Bed- Books! Bagels! PJs! On Wednesday, November 25th students are invited to wear clean Pajamas to school for the day. We will also be serving bagels for breakfast (plain, plain cream cheese, or strawberry cream cheese) and yogurt drink. Students will start their day with a bagel and read aloud on TEAMS with Mrs. Burnett as they sit back enjoy in the comfort of pajamas.

Sarah’s Soap Fundraiser- Fundraising forms are still available for those keen fundraisers. Please let us know if you will need another order form. Orders are due this Wednesday, November 25th  with payment.  There has been some great response to our frozen yogurt party for top fundraising class! Go TEAMS!

Parent Teacher Interviews- Just to let you know in advance, our Parent-teacher interviews this term will be online through teams or done via telephone. Interview times will be made available Dec. 2, Dec.3 and Dec. 4th .

Christmas Concert- This year our concert will be virtual. Our concert will become live on Wednesday December 16 via link at 6pm. So plan a family night! Grab some Popcorn and hot chocolate and sit back and enjoy!

Face Masks- Just a reminder to please be sending two clean face masks with your child daily and also using proper fitted face mask recommendations from public health.

Home and School and PSSC Meeting- We will meet Wednesday, November 25th at 6pm. Everyone is welcome to attend. We will meet in gymnasium. Please wear face mask and sanitize when entering.

Hello MAS Families. We had a wonderful outdoor Remembrance Day ceremony. The weather was perfect! Each class shared a poem about Remembrance Day that they had learned. Diversity and Respect week- Part of creating a positive learning environment in our school is by respecting and accepting everyone for who they are. This week in class students will be engaged in learning and activities to help students feel safe, feel connected, and increase their sense of belonging at school.  

Sarah’s Soap Fundraiser- Fundraising forms went home this week. Please let us know if you will need another order form. To encourage funds to be raised, we will be rewarding the top selling class with a Frozen Yogurt party!

Week at a Glance Nov. 9-13

Hello MAS Families! We have had a great week at MAS. I want to thank parent volunteers that virtually shared their career with classrooms. It is a great learning experience for all.

Important information Items-

Remembrance Day Ceremony- Normally during this ceremony we would invite parents to join, but due to COVID-19 and operational plans this year we are unable to. I will share that students will participate in a ceremony here at school. We will be meeting outside socially distanced, share class poems that have learned, participate in a moment of silence, and lay wreaths at the base of our flag poles.

No School- November 11. Remembrance Day

Home and School Fundraiser- Sarah’s Soaps. On November 10th students will be bringing home order forms for our soap fundraiser. This is supporting a local company and giving you some great Christmas gifts for family and friends. Bars of soap are $6 per bar or 3 for $15. We look forward to your support. All funds raised from this fundraiser will go towards supporting student learning.

Breakfast Program- Although this year we are unbale to host our Tuesday morning breakfast each day, classrooms have snacks for students that may be hungry. Please encourage your child to ask their teacher or please reach out to the teacher if your child may need a little extra something to get their morning going.

Hello MAS Families! The students had so much fun with the pumpkin carving contest and so did the staff! We ended Thursday with lots of Halloween fun.

Thank you to parents for supporting our fundraiser with the pumpkins. We raised $113.50!

Important information Items-

VIP Picture Retakes- For those doing re-takes it will be Monday, November 2.

Career Week- This week is Atlantic Canada Career week. Thank you to those that have offered to share with your child’s class. It’s not too late to reach out to the teacher if you would like to stream into your child’s classroom and share what you do for a living.  This is a wonderful way to enrich the learning of our students.
