What
we are learning this week:

Literacy: This week we will be learning about
poetry! We will be looking at a variety of poems (haiku, cinquain, limerick,
rhyming, acrostic…etc) as well as creating their own.

Math: We will begin to finish out
multiplication and division unit (which we will be reviewing throughout the
rest of the year). We will be reviewing division strategies. Also how to relate
division and multiplication. Some students have begun learning long division.

Science: We have our science lead visiting
with us this week. She will be helping us out with our unit on changes in
matter. We will be doing an experiment and deciding if it is a fair test. We
will also begin to look at different properties of matter. Finally, we will
begin to look at physical and chemical changes in matter.

Health: This week we are continuing our
discussion on safety and how students can play a role in keeping themselves
safe in a variety of different situations.

French: In French, we will continue our
discussions of family but I am also going to be introducing some holiday
vocabulary as well. We will be discussing traditions around the holidays and
learning many new words.

Have
a great week!
