Dear Parent and Guardians,

Happy New Year! I hope
everyone had a great holiday. I am very excited to get back to learning this
week.

Reminders:

Cold weather- Please be sure to send your child dressed
appropriately for outside- hat, mitts (extra in back pack), boots, scarf, and
snow pants. The wind chill cut off to stay in is -20, so up to that we
will be outside for recess. We try our very best to get outside for fresh air
as often as we can even during cold weather.

Book orders: January book orders have gone home. Just a reminder that they
are due back January 25th 2019.

This Week-

Monday January 7- No
School for students

Tuesday January 8- First
day back for students. Tots N Taters

Wednesday January 9-

Thursday January 10-
Great Canadian Bagel Hot Lunch

Friday January 11- LHHS
Clubs. Tots N Taters

What we are learning this week:

Literacy: This week we will be beginning to work on persuasive
writing. Students will learn how to give reasons to support their points within
their writing.

Math: In math, we will be working on the measurement unit. We
will be looking at telling time in a variety of ways (analog clock/24 clock)
and measuring various lengths.

Science: In science, we will be finishing off our properties of
matter unit by looking at and experimenting with physical and chemical changes.

French: French we are continuing our unit with family/friends and
how to describe people (both physical and personality characteristics).
