Dear Parent and
Guardians,

I
hope everyone had an enjoyable weekend. Even through our groundhod said 6 more weeks of winter I hope there is some warmer weather
this week so we can get outside for recess. We have an exciting week this week,
here are some things to remember.

Reminders:

Book Orders: February book orders went home and
they are due back on the 15th

Intensive French: We began our intensive French block
today. This will continue for the rest of the school year.

Chinese New Year: We
will be having a Chinese New Year Celebration tomorrow February 5th. We will
have a presentation as well as a special lunch. If your child indicated they
would not be eating the Chinese lunch please make sure they bring their own
food.

This week:

Monday
February 4 – Pizza

Tuesday
Feb. 5– Breakfast program and Chinese New Year Celebrations

Wednesday
Feb. 6  –

Thursday
Feb 7– Great Canadian Bagel - Visit from UNB Hockey 12:50pm

Friday
Feb 8– Tot’s and taters

What
we are learning this week:

French:
This week students are finishing their unit with family/friends. Today we are
talking about our pets. We are learning how to describe people and animals, we
will be writing small paragraphs about our pets (or pets we would want to
have). Later on this week, we will learn how to describe people
characteristics. Students will be working on a small “family tree” type of assignment
during class this week as well.

Math:
We are beginning a new unit this week. We are learning about fractions. This
week will be pre-assessing to figure out what students remember from last year.
We will go over some basics about fractions then begin working on various
concepts (equivalent fractions and decimals).
