The Western Valley Regional Service CommissionThe Western Valley Regional Service Commission, encompassing the area from Forest City to Nictau is undergoing a study to create a new vision for recreation service in the region. In order to accurately assess the region's recreation needs we are performing a recreation use survey that will help us gather information on residents' recreation use, barriers to use, and what infrastructure or programs are needed. By filling out the survey you will help the Commission realize new recreation opportunities in the Western Valley region.
https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/WesternValleyRecreation School Improvement PlanEvery school in the province is charged with making improvements in their school. We have just completed a School Improvement Plan for 2014-2017 school years. Staff and PSSC members looked at data from a number of sources to see where we could improve. Our priorities are:
1. Improve Student Achievement through effective assessment
practices.
2. Enhance Learning and Working Environment.
Over the next three years teachers will be working to improve the way students are assessed. This will include having students do self- assessment and peer assessment, as well as co-constructing criteria. We will also work to increase student engagement at school by looking at homework practices, offering school clubs, looking at ways to target bullying and bothering behaviors, and helping students develop positive relationships at school. Your feedback and suggestions are always welcomed. We look forward to the changes these priorities will bring about in our school.
New Website LookASD-W is in the process of modifiying all school websites to have a common look and layout. You will notice a few differences with the current menu layout on top as well as the way the homepage is structured. Calendar items will appear to the top left beneath the "Upcoming Events" heading. Latest School News will appear here in the center column. District News and Latest School Documents shall appear to the right. Most items can be found under the "Quick Links" option above. A Multimedia Link has been provided as well, this is where you will find the "Slideshow" that was originally on the front page.
