Mini Basketball
​We are very excited to announce the Steve Nash Youth Basketball Program is back for its third year and we are looking to expand further. This year we are hoping to include K-1 students into the program. We are currently in discussion with NMS to use their gym on Tuesday and Thursday each week due to the need for a larger space. At this time, we are planning for our K-1 group to practice on Mondays from 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm at NES, Grade 2-3 group to practice on Tuesdays from 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm at NMS and our Grade 4-5 group to practice on Thursdays from 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm at NMS. We are hoping to start September 18th, September 19th and September 21th respectively and the program will run for 8 weeks. This is a great opportunity for students to get exposed to basketball in a fun way. We had over 60 participants last year and with three different age groups we are hoping to grow even more in our third year. The cost of the program is $40 per player for K-1 and $65 per player for 2/3 and 4/5. The $65 fee is due to the fact that we need to rent the NMS gym this year and to assist the association in training our new coaches under the National Coaching Certification Program- Learn to Train.  As a member of the program your child will receive and get to keep their own basketball jersey, basketball, , as well has receiving 8 hours of basketball instruction. We hope your son and daughter will be able to get involved in the program J

For sizing purposes when filling out the form, we found last years jerseys were very generous in size, so please make sure you order one size down from what you child is currently wearing. Example: If you child is wearing a medium size shirt, you will want to order a small size jersey.
