One of the above is for Gr 7 (Canada) and the other is for gr 8 (Atlantic region) Slight difference between the two.

"EATING THROUGH A NOVEL" THURSDAY PM
We are celebrating our novel by eating the foods that were in the novel. We plan to do that last period on Thursday and students have decided to order pizza. They will need $3 each for the pizza. Some students have offered to bring in other things for the celebration: Lemonade(Jordan), Milk (Brady), Fruit Punch (Raegan), Peach Juice (Lydia), Icecream (Emilia & Kiana), cones (Marielle), sprinkles(Annie)
We will need napkins too, if someone would like to volunteer to bring those in it would be great!

FILA -Read novel each night (reading response journal entries to be done in class time) Leave journals at school.; Signatures needed on:Test d'écoute; Test de compréhension de lecture ( I have a number of these now) 
LECTURE - SCHUM - Skim rest of chapter looking for other ways Canada contributed to WWI (WE covered people and horses); Table for this activity is attached at top of Homework

L.A.- Stories are finally done! We will do some listening assessments this week and next; new writing piece - "Three Things You Should Know About Me" (only 3 paragraphs - being done in class only, but they may talk about it with you before hand)
 
 
 

SCHUM -Historical character sheet. Students are filling out a sheet based on the historical account in the text of the Home Children. They played a role in class and their character is the subject of the sheet or they are allowed to take on another character that they are creating, but the character must be of the period and involved in the Home Children experience. Whatever they can get started at home tonight would be good. We have the computer lab one more class tomorrow and I would like these by Friday. Talk to them, show them footage on youtube of the home children experience
 
-Sign the test. Some will do a re-test on Thursday. They have corrections to do using their notebooks and textbooks and cards with definitions. They must do the corrections and get the signature in order to do the re-test. I give marks for corrections! A very good effort on the test for most of the students. Some find the testing more difficult. It is a test, one mark amongst a few this term, so it does not impact as much as all the other projects, maps, etc. Please note that the mark is combined for the re-test. If they have just one section that is low they will only have to re-write that section.

Test - -ER verbs - Thursday ( a small quiz on them); Students have exercises to study from and a few notes too.

 
 
8 A SCHUM
 
Working on a table about both world wars. Talk about what caused them and any family who may be involved now in the Canadian military or those who were involved in the past.
 
Read over the contents on the table that we filled out in class today on WWII. We will finish that Wednesday.
