Today we continued with our lesson on fraction division. Terms to know: reciprocal, equivalent fractions, lowest common denominator (you can think of this as the LCM - lowest common multiple)
We learned today that fraction division can be modeled with numberlines. Find the LCM of the denominators, write these equivalent fractions, and divide your numberline into that quantity. Then draw a bar representing both fractions (the divisor and the dividend). Just use these bars for reference to find out how many and what part of the divisor goes into the dividend
I've attached the smartboard lesson from Friday, today's board examples and a copy of the text questions.
Homework: 3 Board questions AND pg. 133 #8 and 9.
